EXECUTIVE ROUNDTABLE — CHINA
In this 45-minute question-and-answer panel discussion, executives from five of China’s leading seafood companies will share their insight on the future of seafood production and consumption in China, with a focus on shrimp and tilapia. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Cui He of China Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Alliance (CAPPMA).

Mr. Chen Dan is chairman of Guangdong Evergreen Group Co. Ltd. and Guangdong Evergreen Feed Industry Co. Ltd. He is also deputy to the 10th，11th and 12th National People’s Congress and Chairman of Guangdong Province Federation of Industry and Commerce. He has more than 20 years of aquaculture experience, including in finfish and shrimp seedling breeding, feed production, microorganism production and seafood processing. With “Top Brand, Evergreen Forever” as his vision, Mr. Chen is working together with professional institutes, universities and farmers to to create value for customers and provide safe, nutritious and healthy food to people worldwide.
Mr. Zhou Qinfu is chairman of Hainan Qinfu Industrial Co. Ltd. and Hainan Qinfu Foods Co. Ltd., which he established in 2007. With more than 30 years of seafood experience, Mr. Zhou was the first to develop intensive culture of tilapia. His company is the largest tilapia-farming operation in Hainan, with more than 6,650 hectares of ponds. Mr. Zhou is leader is responsible and sustainable tilapia aquaculture in China and a winner of many awards for his leadership and foresight.
Mr. Liu Rongjie is board director of Hainan Xiangtai Fishery Co. Ltd. and vice chairman of China Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Association. He has nearly 30 years of seafood industry experience. His company is vertical integrated with seed culture, ecological farming, R&D of feedmeal and oil production, processing and sales, and cold-chain logistics. He has been honored with 11 awards, including the Agriculture Industrialization National Key Leading Enterprise, and his company has successfully navigated 10 international certification programs, including Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP). Xiangtai is Hainan’s first company eligible to offer four-star BAP product.
Mr. Joe Chow is the managing director and president of Shenzhen Allied Aquatic Produce Development Ltd. (SZAA) and Guangzhou Luxe Foods Inc (LUXE). SZAA has been involved in the tilapia processing business in China since 1993. SZAA and LUXE have earned Best Aquaculture Practices four-star certification for tilapia, while LUXE is the first company that has earned BAP certification for Japanese sea perch.
Li Zhong is chairman and founder of Zhanjiang Guolian Aquatic Products Co. Ltd. He has 30 years of aquaculture experience, and he is honorary president of the National Federation of Fisheries Associations. Guolian is China’s first publicly listed shrimp enterprise, with annual revenues of 2.5 billion yuan. In addition to its shrimp-processing arm, its subsidiaries include Guangdong Gourmet Aquatic Co. Ltd., its tilapia processing arm, and Sunnyvale Seafood Corp, its U.S. sales arm. The company also owns five domestic sales companies as well as shrimp and tilapia farms, hatcheries and feed mills. Mr. Li is actively involved in charities and the Nansan Island bridge-building project.
Dr. Cui He has been working at China Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Alliance (CAPPMA) since 2007. Currently, he is executive vice president. With more than 30 years of seafood experience, Dr. Cui has worked for the China Society of Fisheries, China Fisheries magazine, Bureau of Fisheries and Fishery Law Enforcement Ministry of Agriculture, National Fisheries Technology Extension Center and China Fisheries Association. Dr. Cui has published more 60 academic papers and participated in many important international academic issues.
