Practical Short Course on Feeds and Pet Food Extrusion
January 31 - February 5
University staff, industry representatives and consultants will present information on designing new feed mills and selecting equipment, as well as current practices for feed production, preparing full-fat soy meal, recycling fisheries and animal by-products, and extrusion of various feed types. Spraying and coating, use of encapsulated ingredients and premixes, and least-cost formulation will also be reviewed. Techniques will be demonstrated on four major types of extruders.
