Congratulations to Vietnam’s Trangs Group, which is among the finalists for the 2015 Seafood Prix d’Elite new products competition at next week’s Seafood Expo Global in Brussels, Belgium.
Trangs Group is among the nearly 30 companies worldwide to achieve four-star Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) status. It’s the highest such achievement in the BAP third-party certification program, denoting that the processing plants, farms, hatcheries and feed mills from which a group sources are BAP certified. Trangs Group’s four-star BAP status is for shrimp.
Trangs Group has four products among the 37 products from 11 countries selected as Seafood Prix d’Elite finalists. The four products are: Banana Leaf Wrapped Fish Cakes; Beetroot Whitefish and Quinoa Fishcakes Encrusted with Quinoa; Pandan Wrapped Prawn Cakes; and Stuffed Squid with Paella.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony and reception in Auditorium 2000 of the Brussels Exhibition Centre on Tuesday, April 21, at 6:15 p.m. Seafood Prix d’Elite is celebrating its 15th anniversary Seafood Expo Global. Top awards are given for best new retail product and best new foodservice product. Five special awards are also handed out for health and nutrition, convenience, originality, retail packaging and seafood product line.
